| Educational Services |
| In year 1992 Darfur adopted the establishment of a nomadic education department. In the same year a workshop conducted in June 1993 for the provision of education to nomadic children and to map the situation of mobile schools, their teachers and curriculum which will be adopted. |

- In 1993-1994 seventy six (76 ) schools out of 100 schools were opened and an agreement was endorsed between three parties.
- Statistics indicate that there are about 137,346 school age children (6 years) are out of schools.
Children enrolled in existing nomadic schools are 87,399 from which 31,684 are girls for the limited number of schools and weak absorptive capacity.
- The numbers of teachers who work in nomadic schools are 965 teachers to cover 710 schools which consist of 1721 classes; this reflects the apparent shortage in the number of teachers versus classes.
- Most of the existing teachers are lacking continuous training and essential training.
- Total number of school age children (6 - 13 years) mounted to 210,943children since the project started very late.Improving the efficiency of the utilization of traditional and non-conventional feed resources.
- Conserving fauna biodiversity and the environment through the collaboration with national and international organizations.• Quite a large number of youth and adolescents are missing schooling estimated by 140,000.
- Nomadic Children Education Project started in 1993-1994 with 76 mobile schools made from local material, one classroom teacher is used and multi- grade teaching Methodology is adopted.
- Nomadic schools use the national curriculum
although it is not relevant to their habits and their environment.

- Dropout rate among girls reached 13% due to community traditions and social conditions also because girls are taking the responsibility of bringing water and wood for the household.
- Lack of boarding schools to accommodate students after the fourth grade led to the drop out of children from the education system.
- Nomadic schools are lacking good and encouraging educational environment, textbooks and educational tools are not covering the real need.
- Curriculum is lacking topics of relevant to nomadic environments and nomadic life.

| Urgent Needs In the field of Education: |
- Attach pre-school class and promote literacy classes.
- Provide boarding schools from fifth grade until the eighth grade to accommodate students after the fourth grade.
- Increase the number of schools to accommodate those in school age (6 years).
- Increasing numbers of qualified teachers and giving special training for rehabilitation and provision of textbooks and educational aids.
- Transfer of experience to Albwadi Koranic schools.
- Opening the fields of admission to the children of nomadic to universities and institutes.
- Improve the learning environment and make it friendly and attractive to children.

| Education services are very poor and numbers of schools are inadequate to accommodate those who are of school age and outside the educational system, as the number of school age children (6-13 years) has reached 210,943 children. |
